I was walking around the showroom hall and talking to my old friends (these are more like family reunions), and my wife comes running up to me... "Lee, Buddy from the coin forum is here and wants to meet you!" What an unexpeted surprise! I could not get back to my table fast enough. Meeting Kevin and Buddy was definitely a highlight of the show for my wife and I. Such wonderful people ... and now not just e-friends - but F2F friends as well! Thanks for the fun time you two - it was a great pleasure for sure. I still am honored you two wanted a copy of the book. Thanks so much and I surely hope you enjoy the read. And if were not for CCF - we could not have had the fun visiting together like we did (and for quite some time!). So a big group hug for CCF also! Everyone there was very friendly and willing to teach us even though we weren't really shopping for much. I've only read a little bit of the book -- but it has really increased my interest in insulators. A quote from the book: "... and to think this frail piece of converted sand had utility enough to build communication networks well over a century ago. They are my ticket to a time machine." Gene Hawkins, p.6 It boggles the mind to think about how the communications network we all enjoy today started so long ago. Report this Post to the Staff
