guys, I saw this coin along with a hoard of coins from an estate. I am sorry I dont have any other images, this is the only one that was posted online. I am not really familiar with US silver dollars or this possible error any ideas of what the error is? I am thinking it has to do with the field (normally you would list what the error is on the 2x2) i was hoping someone had seen something like this before?

I can't find the sale you're talking about, but I doubt its authenticity. All the reverse words are not there. Even if it's real that's some heavy PMD on it.

Either heavily abused, or just a plain fake. NOT an error.

Looks like the aftermath of a Dremil tool at about 5 o'clock on the coin. Someone made an eagle emblem from the reverse of this coin

I agree with Conder. Not an error at all.

sorry, I know, not much to go on. I saw this locally online, it is an estate sale, they are trying to move the persons entire coin collection, and I was trying to suss out what the possible value was. (I don't have any access to the coins only the image and I only have the one I posted) My first thought was PMD like all of you, maybe a Dryer Coin. thanks for the confirmations

Arrow fletches look like the 1921-only reverse.

Not fake, just heavily altered and damaged is my guess, a Dremel tool most likely as Stoneman said.
