Looking for opinions on this LMC 1995-P. In bay 5 is what looks to me like a possible extra column. There may also be an extra partial column in bay 4; but I am not able to to get a close enough shot of it with my cell phone, I think, to be able to make a judgment call on it. I'm hoping the shots of bay 5, however, are good enough. If I try to get any closer it all becomes a fuzzy mess.

Wexler (Doubleddie.com) show 3 ddrs for 1995 that I think look similar to what's going on in bay 5 of this coin (WDDR-003, WDDR-010 & WDDR011), but those happen in either the first three bays or the last two. So if this is a DDR I'm wondering if is new, or if anybody is already ware of it.

Any thoughts and opinions will be appreciated.

I see it and looks DDR to me. Let's wait for one of the experts to chime in.

With the last images, you can see the line below the steps. So I'm thinking this is a die scratch. Does it extend above the roof?

It appears to me to be a DDR but not one that I can find listed anywhere.

No, it stops just a little bit before it hits the roof line (like just before the rounded part inside the bay). Looking at it, I also see it stopping right at the floor line (that is, at that extra level inside the bay horizontal with the steps). There is a small scratch on the steps just underneath it, which might, I think, make it looks like it extends beyond the floor.

No I meant below the base of the Memorial. I can see the line continuing below the base line.

Try to get a photo with the light source at a different angle.

Okay, got it. Tomorrow (it's getting near bedtime for bonzo - I'm on the east coast) I'll shoot a bunch of different angles and try some different light sources. Now that I know what you're looking for. Might try it outdoors on my lunch hour as well. I appreciate all the input and comments. To me this is a lot of fun - regardless if it turns out to be a DDR or not.

I've learned a lot through this discussion - and can see what you're saying, Coop, about the die scratches. Wow! I never would have thought to check for them. I took some pictures this afternoon, and while I'm not seeing any die scratches above the memorial day, they are clear below it - and one of them (the shorter one) does seem to line up.

Qustion : Since the "line" running down bay 5 looks so similar (to me - though I've only seen pics, never a coin in hand) to the doubling on the varieties I previously mentioned, or, for example, to the newly accredited 1959 DDR-003 (which is what kind of got me looking for these), is there a way to rule out the one (the die scratch) from the other (the doubled die)?

[Sorry - just ignore the duplicate images. There's 2 or 3 good pictures here that I think show the areas above and below the memorial buildings clearly

That is quite an eye for detail you have Coop. I didn't even notice the other marks until you pointed them out.
What kind of computer monitor do you use?
