My two sets arrived today. The box sounds like a coffee can full of rocks. I hesitate to even open it up, who knows what I'll find !!

My box actually had some bubble padding in it. Last time it was 5 sets with just a single piece of paper.

Quote:I see these 17k mintage sets settling in the $200 range. As a good comparison, take a look at the 1997 Botanic Garden Coinage and Currency set that had a 25k mintage and includes the 1997-P matte proof Jefferson nickel. It seems to be selling in the $150 range on ebay. *** Edited by Staff to add quote tags. Please use them in the future. Posts are very difficult to read without them.***I agree for short term, it will settle around $200

1st post! ok received my sets today the bad news one of the capsules on the silver was cracked big time my heart dropped looked like a big scratch on the coin.. I only got these sets for the silver coin since the reverse is beautiful on them so I removed the cracked capsule nice and slow just to see the luster on the coin and not a scratch had some ASE capsules on hand and just put the medal in one of them. The good news all the coins look perfect I never sent a coin to get graded but going to pay the money to NGC and send them all in I have a strong feeling all would get a 70 I know that saying alot but the coins are flawless

Welcome and congratulations. BTW, the silver one is not a coin. It's a medal as it has no face value.

at havanacoins I am going to go to my local shop NGC has a dealer locator all you do is enter your zipcode and the shops should help you what I would like to know if the dealers overcharge people to send a coin in

Quote: what I would like to know if the dealers overcharge people to send a coin in What you may find is that even though they are listed as an NGC dealer, they don't want to be bothered with other people's orders. I called all for my area and they either flat out said they didn't do it, or made it sound like they really didn't want to.

That may actually be a real bargain. From what I've seen on mine and others that have been posted, 70s will be pretty uncommon. If it were NGC, I'd give it serious consideration.
