Quote: How is the silver dollar ring coming a long?
well I'm trying lol. the tapping is getting to the wife so I am not allowed to do it inside anymore i have worked on it a couple more hrs yesterday and will more shortly tonight when I start up the BBQ ,just not enough of a difference from my last post but will post more pics soon as it begins take shape a little more, it should take longer than the 50c piece as it is thicker and will require more whacks to get the desired shape
A little late for advice and I'm not sure if it has any value but the rings I made were with American silver (90%) and some old pre war stuff at 92.5. My thinking was the purer the silver the softer / easier it would be to work.
Very cool looking great! When will you decide enough is enough and drill and polish the thing? I never considered using a dollar since it would end up with a pretty wide band, no?

not with my fingers as I have huge fingers, I wont be drilling out the center as it would waste too much silver
ok about 6 more hours and I'm getting close unfortunatly I'm not sure if its gonna fit I may need to use a Morgan dollar after all but we will see. I have included a ring (size 7) for comparison just to show how big my hands are lol its getting a nice wide rim which is what I wanted but it might have to be a pinky ring ,we will see, maybe I can stretch it
