My name is Fuad Ali , I am from Kuwait, I collect middle east silver coins, I have just bought a Persian Qajar Coin, I suspect it not authentic, any body can help to verify its status.
I appreciate your help , I am glad to be part of this informative and active forum.

It is a (5000 Dinars silver) year (1327).
It looks like silver it weighs about 22 grams.
The diameter 35 mm exactly as in the world coin book.
I realized that the edge is flat not with lines like the other 5000 dinars coins in previous years..
Also the wight in the world coin book is 23 grams while this one is 22 grams
What do you think about it ?
I appreciate your help

the reeding on the edge might have been worn away or removed somehow to account for the missing weight.

This coin does look like a cast copy. Does it ring like silver?

The year of your coin is AH1337. The portrait and legend of the observe is different from the catalog if it is KM#1058.

A really poor forgery (definitely not made of silver). Thanks for sharing.

The lack of detail in the head/face is a good thing.....apparently that is a known weak strike area on original examples:

Yes, but what make me suspicions is the weight and the flat edge.
Why it is less in weight ? Is the original coin has the same edge ?

The coin is definitely a numismatic forgery looks like a simple pressure cast copy made from a plastic mold.

Dear sir ,
I appreciate your help , do you know an Iran coins expert , or a source where I get a final judgment of this coin. at least to confirm that the original one does have reeding on the edge.
