he meant it looked like it was caused by a bb gun/pellet gun. I have no clue what might have caused that, bb seems very plausible. definitely doesn't looked like it was drilled though.

silverwolf means it was shot at with a BB gun.
Reminds me when I was a kid and had I a "Red Ryder" BB gun.

Sorry AG,
We must have been typing the same time

don't own any halves yet from that era, too expensive for me. the owner of my LCS showed me a collection of George V halves he bought a few weeks back and none of them were lower than EF

Your coin is much closer to my price range, thanks for sharing.

I inherited my grandfather from Canada's coin collection so I have quite a few old Canadian pieces.

Oh, just about anything from Canada or Netherlands it seems. Especially junk silver. Oh, and TONS of wheat pennies. XD It also seems like he would buy a bunch of world grab bags because there was an entire bag filled with common world coins. He has a few Whitman books he's been putting coins in too with a filled small cents book (1920-1960). He seemed to be more of a "quantity over quality" type of guy.

Yeah.. BB or Pellet gun shot like the others said.
And.. flatten that staple out before it comes in contact with another coin.

A pellet do that, not a BB dot.
