Hi pennyman, Your first picture looks like it may have copper in the planchet but, your second picture doesn't? I'm not sure if it is the way the photo was taken, or the light?

Thanks Shafta I'm quite sure it is copper but just hard to get a picture of. I was hoping one of the experts who has seen this sort of thing could help confirm it. Sorry for the pics I know they're not the greatest.

Personally, I think a person has to pursue an answer to be sure, one way or the other. Glad there are fellow enthusiasts willing to share time/equipment/expertise to steepen the learning curve and arrive at answers.
Better luck next time pennyman!

pennyman want to see my 5 cent coin struck with copper contamination? Mine has kinda special twist. Is struck on 10 cent planchet. Total weight is 2.5 not 2.1. That much copper.
