VAM Help With This 1878 S? - Coin Community Forum

Scropper CCF Sponsor United States 702 Posts	Posted 07/17/2015 02:08 am Howdy folks! Generally, I like to think I'm pretty good at figuring out details from my time identifying coppers. But this one has me stumped. I've looked at it a bunch and I just can't see anything anymore. Help. : ) It appears to be a VAM 74 or a VAM 105 (except for the broken "r", I think. What do you think? dave700x Rest in Peace United States 10625 Posts	Posted 07/17/2015 1:17 pm 74 is a completely missing "R" serif so that one is out based on that. 105 is a re-engraved serif and I'm reading yours as a "full triangle shaped serif".
