In my efforts to get a good set-up for taking coin pictures,
and reading here on CCF. I thought having a copy stand would
be a big help.

I should have asked before I bought it, any opinions on this one.

I did measure my camera with the 100 MM Canon lens.
Between 6 and 7 inches from the 1/4in mounting hole
and the bottom of the lens. I am thinking it will be
very close to what I need. Or I may have to figure out
some sort of adapter.

I am hoping the copy stand is decent quality.

I'm not overly positive about the stand, but I will remain hopeful it works for you. I expect it will be very rickety, especially with a heavy camera and lens.

I read your reply this morning ... And it has me somewhat worried.
They did have a more heavy duty looking .. And taller copy stand
But it is $100 more.

They do have a return policy ... Or maybe I can beef it up.
If it is not sturdy enough.

This thread got me thinking about getting a copy stand for myself.

I do like the looks of the one in the OP. Please keeps up informed once it arrives.

I found this one on ebay and I can pick it up locally, saving a ton on shipping.

Any thoughts?

I have spent just over two years developing my vertical macro rig for coins. I started with a modified enlarger stand, migrated to a Kaiser copy stand I have learnt a number of things:
1: Copy stands are good for what they were designed for, which is photographing documents. For coins they can be little better than a stabilized tripod particularly those that cost less than US$100.00 new.
2: To get the best pictures you need to spend some money on a good support. But do so with thought: a heavy drill press( I recall seeing pictures of drill press rigs in this forum) would be better than both the options pictured in this thread.

You need a support system that doesn't move, "locks" the camera and Subject together...so they vibrate the same. An enlarger stand or copy stand with a counterweight and geared rack( as opposed to friction drive) are in my opinion the key features you should look for.
