There is doubling on several letters on that coin on the reverse, just as he claims.

Ive always just considered anyone who buys these may be stupid, but as long as theres nothing blatantly misleading, I figure the buyer will learn a lesson hopefully. With all the online resources for doubled dies, if you cant do a simple google search, you will spend your money unwisely. Its no business of mine and I dont think it takes away from the hobby as a good collector always does their research first.

Near-fradulent descriptions are rife in many E-bay categories. There is little that can be done to police this sort of thing, unfortunately. I think cherrypickersaddict is basically right.

Although there are people on ebay who look for suckers, we also have to remember that some people are not fully educated about what they sell either. It could be a person would see one DDO listing, start looking at coins, and find what their concept of a DDO w/out ever taking the time to look it up for themselves.

As an example - this same seller has what he claims is a 1945/3 cent. Does he thinks its legit? Did he bother to look it up? Who knows. His use of improper terminology may also just be a reflection of ignorance.

I am not standing up for this seller or knocking him down. I personally have no idea. It might be good to contact him and ask him. If he is legit, who knows, it might make a coin collector out of him?
