Been watching for a month finally pulled the trigger. Has a return policy but I think osts a 42/1 d. Any opinions on variety or grade would be appreciated.

Left side of the bottom of the 4. Small tab on top of the 2 and the double mint mark. As you know the 1 is not evident on the Denver 42/1.

So type coin do you agree I have a shot. If you look at as many as I have there are always some differences especially on the 2 sometimes you get the top and bottom of the 1 sometime only the top. And some of the slabbed ones I question because the 4 is so distorted I believe they got it wrong.

I see the tiny mark on the lower left of the 4. Have you blown up the pic and taken a closer look? I don't have the software to do that. My gut says no on this one.

Mikey, I blew up the photo from the original listing and played with the contrast, brightness, enlargement, ect.

I do see what you see at the left side of the bottom of the 4, but it may just be a spec there as I see other specs or die chips on the coin in that area especially between the 9 and 4 (upper part) I also see a small tab at the top of the 2.

I am 50/50 on this being the 42/1 D. I had one and it was slabbed by ANACS,(VF-30) but it was not as nice as this one,it may be harder to see because of the grade.

I think it would be worth a shot. Just my opinion.
Good luck!
