The only thing I don't like is the lag between payment and shipping ,,3 to 5 days after payment ,,with 1 feedback (Which by the way was left one day after the close of that particular auction ) I don't think so ! all the auctions that the seller has running will be over and done before any coin ships . I would like to have the Half Dime ,,but I'm passing on the aution ! I will find one some place else .

I'm from Moline, IL and my parents still live there. What if I offered to pay in person and pick up? Is that even allowable through ebay? I know the seller would have to agree but it is something I have never tried.

Sure you can do that. However still arrange payment thru normal channels and negate the shipping charges. Most people don't wanna do it but I have actually had someone pick up an item from me before. It was none coin related so it didn't bother me...coins though...I'd be weary if I were the seller.
And as far as the 3-5 day thing. There was a time when I was working all morning shifts and only had 1 day a week that I was about to ship items out

Me thinks you are missing the big thing here Over $50 for a coin worth less than $20 and apart form the initial bid all newbie ebayers

I noticed Nohope ,, But until other feedbacks come in its rough to say that His auctions are shilled,, I just don't like the fact that all of them will be over before He is obligated to send a coin to any of the buyers .

I don't think sellers are obliged to have anyone turning up at their doorstep, unless stated in the auction description.

Thats true ,, Sellers do not have to allow pick ups on their sales ,, in fact I can see no benefit to it . I would not allow it . unless the guy lived right beside me and I have known Him for the 8 years I have lived here .

I have driven to the next city over before to pick up a item and had no problems at all, this wasn't coin related and I may think twice before letting a stranger come to my house to pick up a coin when you know they know you have coins in the house

The only way I would agree to allow pick up from myself directly is if there was a good reason. Like I was selling a coin or collection for thousands, and the buyer preferred an in person transaction.
And even then I would have him/her meet me at a local police station.
