I found a 1967 Canadian cent in what I think is high mint state while going through a roll of pennies. It is quite beautiful, might be my favorite coin (for this week). Are these collectable?

Also, I bought (6) 1963 Canadian silver dollars for $5 apiece. One has nice purple toning on the obverse. All are AU or better. I weighed them at .8 ounce. Did I pay too much? They are really beautiful coins, nice design, a nice change from morgans and liberties etc. Anyway, I'd welcome your comments.

Hi, Frank, Welcome to the forum You'll like it here!
You did O.K. on the silver dollars, The Charlton catalogue lists them in MS60 @ $15.00 each.
Also the 1967 Confederation cent, There was 345 mil+ minted, so in M.S.60 it's worth about $1.00

Melt value alone on the silver dollars is over $8, so you did well. As for the Centennial cent, they are common in regular change, but finding one in MS is nice, not a big ticket item, but still a good find.

The 1967 1¢ has value only if it is MS-64 $8.00 or MS-65 $40.00 - prices from CCN trends. The silver dollar has .6 troy ounces of silver so as Topher says yours are worth at least $8.00 each.

Thanks for the info. Looks like now I'm hooked on Canadian coins too.
