I'm trying to get better but This isn't a common coin I want to say the obverse looks great like 55 but the reverse looks like 35 but I'm not sure how much detail is really taken out of the coin by the clashes that you can clearly see on oth sides and it is very late die state as well you can really see the die VLDS state under the date on he rim probably has to do with the die clashes too. Also it is a little dirty yes . I know I have a lot of question but also does the Retained Cuds on the back take away from the coin or add to it. It also has the die chip on it as well .

Nice obverse clash, probably on the reverse too.

The Retained Cud on the reverse looks, at least to my eye, to be an early state of CU-3c(N)-1866-02R

I could be mistaken in that assessment, hopefully someone more knowledgeable on this will chime in with a reply.

XF40 sounds right. All the hallmarks of a VLDS 3c C/N. Clash, die breaks, die sinking, and even rust on the reverse. All endemic to the series, just like their big brother, the Shield nickel.

Solid EF-40, even with the dies having had a hard life.

The obvious clash is the best part of the evidence for VLDS. The rest, I don't think would add to the value or desirability. For sure and for certain it is a nice type coin.

I think the reverse is a weak strike so it most likely is higher than the 35 you are inclined to give it. Your Cud and cracks on this '66 looks like a less circulated version of kakaratt77's 66 https://goccf.com/t/231589!
