I went to a local coin show over the weekend and happened upon a dealer that was focused on various world coins. He sold me a small lot of Mexican junk silver that he had received as part of a package deal to get the numismatics that he wanted. He wasn't highly interested in the silver value, so he was willing to sell it cheaply to be rid of it. All told, I got a little over 4.4 ozt of total silver weight for $60, or about $13.64 an ounce. With current US junk silver going for that price per dollar face value (.715 ozt), I am feeling pretty good. To get any silver below spot, even if it is not standard US pre-1964 or 999 bullion, I feel like I got a pretty good deal. It's kind of nice to have something a little different to look at, as well. Anyone else find silver "junk" from other countries at prices less than US?

Sweet score!I have yet to pay less than spot. My closest was +$1.50/ounce on generic bullion rounds. A couple weeks ago I paid a premium on some world silver. Even though I didn't get the screaming deal you did, I'm still happy with it. I had posted it: https://goccf.com/t/235333

Nice! I find Mexican silver coins at local coin dealers that they're ready to sell for very close to spot if not below. Makes for easy hole filling in my Mexican type set album.

I can get older canadian silver 92.5% for under spot when I can find it at my dealers. They just charge me 80% prices haha. I go for Victorian or Edwards coins so that I know it's 92.5% even without the date. Another one I get dateless is the godless coins from the first year of George V.

Hey, what's the obverse on the 1957 5 peso in the center look like? Is it the Constitution commemorative? That's worth $15-20 by itself.

I had to go look at the obverse and do a quick online search to see about the 1957. It doesn't look like the Constitution commemmorative, though. Here's a picture.
