So they are claiming that this coin with the "Statue of Liberty" on the back was minted 25 years before the Statue of Liberty opened. That's one magic coin.

Look at the feedback. They're new and just don't know any better, IMHO.

A quick google search would teach the seller the real dollar coins minted in 1857-1861 ie Seated dollars.

It's sad that there are many people who think their Presidential dollar was minted in the 18th or 19th century. I see questions about this pop up on Y!A every now and then back when I was on there.

My friend told me they had a bunch of dollar coins from the 1800's and told me I could have one. When I got to their house I discovered they were all new gold dollars

Some people just don't think. At my old job there was a slightly ditzy cashier... she found a heavily greased 1995 quarter with the first two digits missing from the date. She sincerely, honestly believed that she had found a 1,913 year old coin!

I just informed them that those were modern Presidential dollars and are not worth more then face ..I got a nasty reply back saying ,I should mind my own business and if I didn't have anything nice to say,too not say it.

I kindly replied that I was just trying help a fellow ebayer out but if you want to get nasty then we don't need uninformed sellers selling coins on ebay. Then the listing was pulled.

I like how my friends think that Statehood Quarters were minted in the states they portray. For example, they would think that a California quarter was minted in California.

Probably something that should not be repeated on our family friendly forum.

Take a hint and do what Elsa sings. People like that are not worth further effort.
