Hard to tell from the pics, but it looks graded properly to me. I would expect a VF-35 example to have a more toned look. I suspect a cleaning but PCGS didn't seem to be think so. Like I said, hard to tell from these pics.

Looks like an AU53 details coin to me. Toned over light cleaning imo. nlp

The technical grade on actual wear is better than VF35 and appears 45 at least. It was likely net graded for cleaning/eye appeal/etc.

I'm OK with 35. Might be strike, but there looks like clear wear on Liberty's head and eagle's left leg.

There is luster in the protected areas, which means a MINIMUM of an EF-45 grade. But it looks cleaned, so the graders may have market-graded it.

Strictly for circulation rub, I'd agree with the 45. But there is a bit more going on with the splotchy tone and numerous hits than can be seen well in the photos.
If I can't hold the coin in my own hands, I'll agree that PCGS did so and know what they are doing (MOST of the time).

I agree with PCGS on this one. I think the original minty luster can be fooling.

Still amazes me to see a high VF coin with traces of minty luster still on it. ;)
