Another coin I bought today. I liked the look and had to pay up for it. As always, just wanted others opinions and general discussion. This is an easy attribution. O-109a if I remember correctly. Pick up point is a die break from the 12th star and no stem through claw. I paid fine money knowing that it is a fence sitter.

O-109a it is, the only one with a pointed 6 and no stem through the eagle's claw. R.4 and I hope you consider $500 to be Fine money for one, because there ain't many of them.

I'm OK with F15 for it, but unsure if the rim dings keep it from Details grading in which case the value is of course lowered.

Well, maybe I was being a little hard on this one. I thought it would struggle to make 12 and here it is with a few F-15 votes.

As far as the rim bumps, SsuperDdave, I'm not sure if they would warrant a details grade either. I like to think they wouldn't. Seems as though pictures sometimes accentuate flaws that are not as bothersome in person. They are admittedly a little bit of a distraction but I pulled the trigger on it anyway. And yes, I paid just south (by one Grant) of the price you mentioned.

Fairly bought, then, by your information. I personally am not turned off by the dings and wouldn't factor it it much; the uniqueness of the variety helps bolster its' street demand and keep the price up regardless.
