From my personal experience, auction houses don't care. I've seen a number of counterfeits reach the market in recent years.. each time, I've informed auction houses and dealers of the issue. Every time its the same response.. report them to the police and let the police sort it.

Auction houses ? We have had no issues having Sack, Heritage, Aureo, Cayon, Vico react to reported fakes .
There was once a long discussions, the coin stayed there as there were doubts (and well, on a slab with bids, it's hard to have it removed just like that .)
