Poll Question
Do you reuse the 2x2 after taking the coin out even if it has writing all over it? If yes, what do you do?

I do, but it depends. If the coin inside it was BU, then I would put a BU or a circulated coin in it. If the coin was circulated, I would be ok with putting another circulated coin in it. If it has writing on it, cross it out with sharpy.

Okay, so I placed the first vote - NO - and it shows one vote, for YES. What's up with that?

EDIT - Okay, I see. A bit of a delay.

If you resort to this , you really need to ask yourself more than a few questions. The most dangerous part of all of this is reusing the staples.

I only tend to re-use them for duplicates and coins that I have set aside to trade with other collectors.

Not 2x2s. But flips are another story . . .

I collect mostly circulated coins so I reuse them to reduce waste (and save money).

If I'm removing a coin from a 2X2 I cut around the edge of the Mylar very carefully so as not to touch the coin itself. That way I can remove the coin without worrying about the evil staples.
I've seen so many coins damaged by staples, some that were truly beautiful before a scratch, that I just stay away from even a chance of an evil staple attack.

I have, but only temporarily. I prefer fresh ones for permanent use.

I reuse all of them. I put wood filler in the old staple holes and use white out liquid to cover old letters and numbers. If the old info is to dark, I just use a belt sander to get rid of them. For what they cost it is just to easy to use new ones.

I never re use 2x2's. I always put them in fresh, new flips every time (whether it be I bought the coin in a flip, I misspelled a word, or the flip got worn).

Carl , what # grit sandpaper do you use ? all kidding aside I will not reuse 2x2's. for what I buy them at, their not expensive. I don't like other persons writhing's, prices, and grades all over my 2x2's. I also like my own flat laying staples.

What a thread. To think I've just been casting them aside my whole life.
