I went to the safe deposit for some searching through come old rolls of 40% I keep there.

I have a stereoscope that lets me find details rather easily. I have a bit of experience with JFK DDOs, so I know what I am looking for.

I don't have pics b/c my camera is acting up

Out of a roll of 1965s, just under half of them had split serifs on at least one or two letters. Typically the T in TRUST has a left (viewer looking at it) serif, the Y in LIBERTY has two, and/or the U in TRUST has two on top.

Only one DDO had any that was what I considered to be a decent one, while the others are minor. The decent one had split serifs on a lot of the letters and minor doubling on the 965. The decent one (is strong on UST though.

Another roll of 67s yielded about the same - but not a "good" DDO. There were quite a few with minor split serifs on the top of the U in TRUST. The doubling was duplicated on a couple (same die) and a bit different on another.

The Cherry Picker's lists only one 67 with doubled stars on the REV. I found one like in the book, three others with doubled stars directly above the eagle, and another couple where the stars either on the top or on the bottom are doubled. Again though - almost half the roll!

When I get a way to get some pics, I will also post some I am questioning as to double ears and double profiles. I find a lot of double ears - but only the inside part of the ear is dubled. one of the 67s had a triple profile.

Hoping to get some more to try to look for varieties.

finished the 67s last night. Eight of them have a DDO where the Y in Liberty has split serifs, the T in TRUST has a split in its right serif (the viewer's left), the S has a split in its top and bottom serifs, and the T at the start of TRUST has its right serif split. There is more thickness to the letters also. It got to the point I was playing a game with myself. I would deliberately look at the Y in Liberty first and predict if it was one of these DDOs. Sometimes the splits are a bit weak on some letters due to strike.

Another thing I found was some different patterns of doubling on the REV stars. Some have some good doubling right above the banner, but hardly any other. Only two were the Cherry Picker's listed one which have all stars doubled and some doubling on letters. Other I found have the stars just over DOLLAR doubled, and some only have the under STATES and AMERICA doubled. I have 8.00 worth of 67s with this star doubling (serifs - not machine doubled which also show up).

Wish I could get the camera working Aargh!

Most of the interesting DDO's involve the Motto.

Not to mention the 1964's which have DDOs and TDOs.

Thanks for these - that 65 is a dead ringer for the one "decent" DDO. I was hoping to find one of those 66s and 68s - no luck yet.

Has anyone else who searches halves by the box noticed that 90% of the 1971-D' s you care to take a gander at have well defined split serifs on the left side of the T-bar in LIBERTY?
Some of them are quite impressive DDO's such as FS-102, but most are unremarkable!
Even so, I've kept all of them and have accumulated hundreds! This leads me to believe that this was a hub issue, so I plan on picking out all the nice DDO's and setting the rest free.

Here is one of the more prominent DDO's I have found recently.....
