I don't think it was reduced by acid. When that happens it removes the metal envenly, not off centered. It looks like it maybe a wrong planchet because if didn't fill the collar because it was too thin making it strike very weakly.

Bad new guys, ANACS gave the coin an N9 grade meaning it's a counterfeit/fake. I'm disappointed!!

I really do not understand why this is said to be counterfeit! I would like to hear some discussion which would explain that! I suppose that another option is that it has been altered and was sanded down?

I'd think "not genuine" may refer to the planchet error and not the actual coin. The ANACS Facebook page indicates a customer service phone # or email addy where more information can be obtained for N9 coins, hoping that might be helpful. https://www.facebook.com/anacscoing...809893847465Thanks for sharing!

OK...I am puzzled by how ANACS gave you a response in 1 day. I have been waiting for some PCGS grades for 9 weeks!!

And the beat goes on! Of course it is not a real error.

The pictures are inconclusive to me, although I am not a fan of how the rim behaves in some portions of the coin. Errors like that need to be examined in hand, so I am afraid I am not much help here.
