Hi, I'm new to the forum, but I have a question about a dime I got in change tonight, the mint date is 200 D,it looks like they just forgot what year was supposed to stamped on it, sorry I can't download a photo of it I appreciate any opinion of this. thanks

Dimes are notorious for having weak or missing last digits on the date, though typically I've seen dimes from the 80's exhibit this.

Sounds like a Grease Filled Die caused this.

If you are able we would love to see a photo. I think the suggestion of a Grease Fill on the last digit is probably going to be correct.

I have his brother:
200?-Roosevelt-Dime
It is a Philly one. Struck Through Grease preventing the digit to show on the coin. It is not the first time this has happened.
