I think this one's a keeper. Looks great under 10x and 60x. Not a hairline to be found, but plenty of bag marks. Surfaces look 100% original to me. Took pics w/camera and with scanner. I don't know what variety it is, it has a die crack running from about 7:00 on the reverse all the way through the wreath, exiting out at the wreath around 4:00. The obverse has what looks like a tiny die chip that "closes" the 6 a bit. The first two pics are scanner pics and you can see the die crack on the reverse in the 2nd. The camera pics show the actual surface color better than the scanner. Thoughts? Grade? Snow variety? Thank you. Seller had it listed on the flip as "AU", no numerical. It looks like my 1862 and 1861 in color, so I think it's real color.

I do not see a recolored coin, hard to say for sure with pics. Nice coin, nice surfaces, AU all day!

I'm not seeing any problems that would detail it. I'd be putting my tent up in the AU-55 camp.

CN (copper-nickel) cents often have a different color, and from the photos this looks typical and natural. AU-55 from me, too. I'd be happy if I had this one in my collection, don'cha know.

Pics vary so much that it's hard to confirm much of anything other than (to me) some slight wear, so I'll go with 58 as well.

Nice coin, color a bit questionable but looks AU-58 to me.

Going to try a slightly different camera setup on my next IHC post.

Okay. So I made a nicer area and got my new Nikon out and put it in 55mm and came up with this. Better shot of the reverse die crack, too. However, now I'm worried -- the rim looks weird, obverse, from 12:00 around clockwise... what is that? There is also noticeable Strike Doubling on the obverse legend which I missed the first time. Weight is 4.7 grams +/- 0.1: Any ideas?
