171886639061Seller has posted a "1902 Indian Head Error (AU/BU) GEM - Major Double Strike $5,000.00" on the Bay. Not a counterfeit, but basically false advertising. Obviously mistaking "Longacre doubling" for a true double die error. Don't know if that can be reported or not.

Sales pitch. Any knowledgeable or experienced collector would laugh at this auction and move on.

The market for fake DDs is heating up with the ATB and 50S DDO / DDR varieties coming to light, so it's time to start trolling the uninformed public who think DD = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$, like, buy it and you'll be able to sell it for enough to retire later on.... Of course, because people are people, there are usually some of those people dumb enough to fall for it.

Sometimes that's the only way people learn.

Funny.....earlier today I sent him a question asking where he got his $5000 valuation....here was the response I got....
"New York and Colorado coin events Thank you for asking Have a great weekend"
Completely misleading...

Look at his other offerings. What a joke! My favorite is the "moley Lincoln" for only $150 or $50 per mole!

His listings have some ridiculous prices for some not so crazy items.

He did cover himself with lots of statements about not being a coin expert though. This way he can tell people he really doesn't know but that is what it looks like to him. And saying he is not an expert of any kind and doesn't want to become one, also makes it clear what you buy is your problem. Sounds like he took some classes in law school.
