I think, since the rim is fully formed this would be considered a gouge? But wait for others

Interesting shape but looks to be raised above the level of the rim and is into the field and the base of the 1. Cud from what I see.

I'm leaning toward a small Cud and a small collar break. Looks like something damaged these possibly at at the same time. I didn't see where it affected the reverse side of the coin in that area.

As the old saying goes" If it quacks like a duck, then it is probably a duck". Okay, this may be die damage caused by a hit from a foreign object. However, it has the attributes of a Cud and since it has that, then it is listed as CU-50c-1980D-02. It is now an site.
