That's the way collecting goes for me too, jpsned, and probably a lot of other collectors. It's natural to set a particular collection aside for a rest for a few months or years and come back to it with a new appreciation, sense of familiarity, and renewed zeal for adding to it and cultivating it.

Morgan set and a second Ike set. I've also got a start on a second Walking Lib half set, Barber half set, and Standing Lib. quarter set. But those have been moved to the back burner while I've been concentrating on the Morgans and Ikes. I still need a '09svdb and '22 no d to complete my Lincoln set, and hopefully I'll have those by this time next year.

I originally started out with the 7070 U.S. Major Type Set, but it has morphed into several smaller Type Sets which I have listed the link below. Varieties are my weakness, but a nicely toned coin can fill the void if the price is right. PCGS has a really nice set up for their Virtual Albums where you can add just about any image to the folders for display. Some of these Folders will never be filled, especially the Flowing Hair and some Bust versions, it's nice to have a goal to work towards.

PCGS Registries

Nickel Type Set (1865-1964)

20th Century Type Set, Major Types No Gold (1900-1999)

Basic U.S. Coin Design Set No Gold (1792-present)

Complete Barber Type Set (1892-1916)

Small Cent Type Set, Circulation Strikes (1856-present)

Two and Three Cent Type Set, Circulation Strikes (1851-1889)

Five Cent Type Set, Circulation Strikes (1866-present)

Dime Type Set, Circulation Strikes (1796-present)

Twenty Cent and Quarter Dollar Type Set (1796-present)

Half Dollar Type Set, Circulation Strikes (1794-present)

Morgan dollar Mintmark Set, Low Ball (1878-1921) {Retired}

I have been thinking of this post, making me think about
Where I am with my sets.

All Dansco's.
My front burner sets would have to be
Complete Morgan set - two album set.
- need six coins, plus upgrades. (No plan for getting the 1895)

7070 type set, always looking for upgrades.

Just started a Liberty head half dollar set ( Barber halves)
- about 15 coins so far

-----------------------------------------/
Back burner
Indian Head cents
- need four coins

Lincoln cents - have the 8100, but switching to seperate Wheatt
and memorial albums.
- complete but upgrading

Nickels
Jefferson with proofs complete
Dansco 7110 - need about ten coins

Dimes
Mercury - need one, and upgrading
Roosevelt with proofs complete
Roosevelt with out proofs, complete, upgrading.

Quarters
Standing Liberty - about half done
Washington 1932 - 1998, completed, a few to upgrade
Washington State P/D 3 completed uncirculated
Washington State P/D/S/S 4 completed/ two album sets (8 total albums)
Washington 2009 P/D/S/S completed
Washington ATB P/D up to date
Washington ATB P/D/S/S up to date

Half dollar
Walking Liberty - need about 10 coins, and upgrades
Kennedy with proofs complete
Franklin's - complete

Dollars
Date set 1878 - 2015 complete - upgrading
Ike with proofs - complete
SBA - need 4 coins
Sac's - up to date
Presidents - P/D/S up to date

At my last count I have 63 Dansco albums, so I am sure
I am forgetting some.

Impressive list, knowing the quality of coins you post
makes them very impressive.

In the past, seeing your coins has inspired me to start
a collection along the same lines as yours.

I have the start of a slabbed type set. I am not sure
what it will end up being.

My plan right now, I have one of those 20 coin slab boxes.
With a Morgan, Peace, Indian Head cent, Buffalo nickel
...etc Keep my best 20 slabed coins in that box.

Is there such a thing as a common list for a 20 coin box?

I agree with Jbuck, nice start on your nickel album.

Nice things about nickels is, most can be found
in better grades at good prices.

My grandson recently turn 8 years old. I purchased
the same Dansco 7113 for him. Hoping to find out
if he will have any interest in coin collecting.

I have the 8113 in my collection, and have been working
on a 7110.

I am curious.

Where do you find your nickels, coin shops or ebay?

Coin roll hunting?

For me it is interesting how different parts of the country, or different
collectors use different sources for coins.

How do you like that Libertad album. Can I ask what the dates
are for that album?

I have been wanting to start that one.

I am almost done with my second ASE Dansco, and have several
coins in a Canada silver maple leaf album.

I think the Libertad would be a good addition.

I've only been CRH nickels for a few months now but I decided to complete the Jefferson books. After 5 boxes so far I've complete 2 and 3 and only 15-20 coins away on book 1. I think I will buy some of the key dates like 1950-D and others. I've also search pennies (but mostly nickels) and trying to compete both LWC books. I have finished book 2 but only a 1/3 of the way on book one. I was think about starting a buffalo nick set and see how it go. Other then that its only Jefferson's and LWC.
