Had the opportunity to purchase some British Empire silver coinage today at a very modest premium over melt. I imagine this is a common issue in the U.K. but it's not something seen everyday on this side of the pond. Your thoughts on the grade and desirability of this specimen are welcomed.
I give it a VF as well. The silver content was reduced from .925 to .500 after WWI, so the Brits could pay for the war, they were about broke. I've picked up a few of these for post-1920 content melt, some dealers don't check them very carefully.
WWII broke what was left of the British economy, by 1947 all silver content was gone.
