I guess the Market was closed or you took a long Holiday for Christmas.

2017 will finish on top with the gold, as despite me going today there wasn't much to be found. Less people than usual with the same coins I've seen for a while now. So the last find for 2017 will be the gold! I have yet to receive any additional information about the piece but I still have it at hands. As for next visit, I will be out of the country next Sunday so I'll miss that one, but the following Sunday should be good. Any suggestions for Sunday markets in London next week?

Sorry -- don't know about any coin shops in London.
Have a Happy New Year and a safe trip.

Aaand we're back! Holidays are over and everyday life is back! A few pickups today. 20 Franc Notes series 1997 5 Centavos, Honduras 1975 1 Markka, Finland 1965 & 1966 25 kr for these. Sometimes I find it amazing how certain silver coins can be brushed away as 'dirty coins', as I'm sure these Markkas were. Forgotten in a home from a relative for a while ago, someone must've decided to get rid of these by selling them at the market, and the dirtiest coins would certainly go last, these are just after scrap metal after demonetization. I'm starting to lose track of how many of these .350 silver coins I've bought now! (Finnish 1 Markka) What's even more amazing about these 1 Markkas are that they seem to tone the exact same way, the high points turn grey and black whereas the low points stay bright. Makes them easy to recognize, especially because of the raised edges. We're back in business!

Nice pick ups. It's always a good day when you find some silver that's been ignored or forgotten and you can give it a good home.

Things are moving on for the start of this year ½ Öre, Sweden 1857 10 Filler, Hungary 1893 12 Skilling, Norway 1856 & 1873 5 Milliemes, Egypt 1917 Unknown '20' aluminium token 15 Möngö, Mongolia 1977 1 Lira, Turkey 1957 5 Drachmai, Greece 1930 1 Yuan, Taiwan 70 (1981) 10 Escudos, Portugal 1986 10 Qirsh, Egypt 1992 1 Peso, Argentina 1995 80 kr for this today. Shame about the drill hole in one of the Norwegian 12 Skilling, but that's what made it cheap

X2an - nice finds And here's what I bought for $10 USD today at the local monthly flea market with a bunch of other base metal common world coins and 'worthless' tokens:

X2an, you got some nice old coins there. It still surprises me that there are so many coins over 100 years old out there. Nice finds!

Sadly nothing new today. It was forecasted to rain later on today (which it did) and that seemed to have scared away plenty of sellers.
