I am currently working on a NGC Morgan set MS 63 or better. I am planning on sending a few other coins to NGC too, but I have question about this one. 1883 O Morgan, do you guys think it would grade 63 or better? *** Edited by Staff to clarify topic title. Titles are important! ***

It looks like it could make 63.

Certainly MS, however the pictures are not clear enough to pinpoint the number.

Close call. Some marks in the prime areas (cheek, neck, eagle's breast). Might be only a -62.

Based on photos it is difficult to put a number to the grade as it could grade anywhere from AU58 to MS63. It may not be worth sending it in for NGC economy grading as it will cost about $25 with shipping and you can buy a MS63 NGC 1883 O on ebay for around $50. It does look like the coin has nice eye appeal and luster.

I would say no due to the hair looking like someone melted it with a soldering iron..or is that just my imagination?

From your pictures, I think it is a 62-63, but I can not really tell.
Why bother slabbing a coin like this unless it has sentimental value? It is not an economical decision, it is cheaper to just buy a 63 already slabbed than to buy one and have it slabbed unless you are getting it for around melt.

Pics are too blurry for such a specific question. The marks on the cheek are important
