I am looking forward to Christmas, the giving more than the getting. I have one son who is a Model 1911 Colt .45 fan. Another is a long gun nut. And his wife's father is an avid duckhunter.

So,

I am thinking of a handful of silver .45s , a few .308's (or similar) and a shotgun shell as presents. I don't see silver doing any significant changes in price between now and then, but in case one of you has a silver-crystal ball, any reason to wait for siver to drop some more before buying. I don't see the bullion value of silver affecting these much.

Comments welcome.

US spot silver is 15 bucks and change per ozt, plus or minus around 60-70 cents. Looks pretty stable to me.

Got this in today, 93.8g. Thinking of giving it to the nephew, but I kinda like it. Make a great paperweight.

I've been keeping my eye on the silver bullet series hesitant to buy because the premiums are pretty significant. However, seems like the price on these are pretty set at around $20 an ounce and haven't changed much with the fluctuating spot price. I would recommend Provident Metals if your looking to buy. Cash transactions take awhile to process but they do have the lowest premiums and free shipping on orders over $100.

I bought some as a gift from northwest mint, had them engraved and all.. Expensive and not really investment for premium being charged, but I wasn't giving them to someone that cares about bullion value and I would have spent same on a gift.

I somehow left off that they were really nice and wish there wasn't such a premium bc I'd like some for myself

If the feds do raise interest rates next month it may cause craziness in the pm market. If you're not buying significant weight though spot prices may not matter too much for your needs
