The top one 1831 looks like medium letters, and the bottom 1830 looks large letters.

nice looking coins. little verdi-care on that first one will go a long way I think.

Love the die cracking around the perimeter of the obverse on the 1830

VG and F respectively?

1830 - Lg
1831 - Med

Key: Look at spacing between E and S in STATES on reverse.

Color looks (?) slightly off on the 1830.

I'd attribute them but I've got a stack of four full slab boxes sitting on top of my Newcomb book at the moment and not much desk room.

Agree '31 is med. STATES spacing as mentioned is wide.

and '30 is large. Only N-6 is med, and it doesn't fit.
