A few months back a couple of members posted their sets of SBA sets. I never really cared for the SBA dollar, but I really liked how their sets looked. So I started putting them away and putting them into a Littleton album. Yesterday I picked up a 1979S TYII and a 1979 near date. I have the 1999 proof sitting in my to buy box at the LCS, so I am down to needing one coin. Guess it is time to pick up a new Dansco and switch them over. Here are some pics..

I forgot to post, how hard it will be for me to spend $100 for the 1981 TYII, when I could be putting that money into my Morgan sets.
But I do hate to have empty holes ...

Nice I almost compleated the set, I had the type 2 1979 proof and the 1979 wide rim but I sold both for $50 combined...

I'm missing the type II proofs in mine, of course. Like you, GR58, having a hard time spending 100 per coin or so on filling these two holes just now.
Why move it from the current album?

CelticKnot I like Dansco. With the one coming from Wizard this week and the SBA I will pick up this week, I think my count is 65. Many of those are not filled, but many are or close. I am finding nice when I pick up some coins, I have a Dansco to put them into. I do find I have to keep better lists. As for these Littletom albums, as Cascade posted, these album can cause the coins in them to tone with nice color. If I keep this album ... I may have to store some SBA's in it ... And hope to grow some color.

So that "Archival Quality" label on the front is bogus? I understand the attraction to Dansco. I have a handful myself.

Looks great goldrush! I am also a fan of Dansco albums but my Barber half dollars and my Ben Franklin halves with proofs are in my Littleton albums. I may change them over someday but maybe not. I even have a couple of old Library of Coins albums but no coins in them. Maybe someday Be sure and post a finished pic!

Nice set! My SBA set is one page, a short set with 15 coins. No varieties, date and mint only. The 16th hole is the 1982 Proof Set Medal. I had to put it somewhere when I cracked it.

I had planned on picking up the SBA Dansco today, ended up getting a Three Cent Nickel / Two Cent album. And some other supplies. Hope to get the SBA tomorrow.

In a recent Coin World magazine there was an article and a Bill to Congress about trying to remove all the 1979 Susan B. Anthony dollar from Circulation and then make them , No actual cash value. ( only in Collector Coins ), Chances are the Bill will not make it through Congress like they are still trying to eliminate the Lincoln Cent and Jefferson nickels because of cost synergy .

That doesn't make since, make 1979 SBA's "no actual cash value" ? I read that they made the 1999's because the treasury was running low. What about the 1980, 1981 and 1999 coins. I can only imagine there are more Sac's and presidential small dollar sitting in the treasury vaults then SBA's. I guess today's comic in the local paper has a ring of truth. Caption "US lab can grow human brains" "There is hope for Congress"
