Greetings from NW Arkansas! My fiance has a large coin collection (from her deceased husband) of about a thousand coins (not counting the bags or rolls of coins) US and Foreign. Many are in plastic holders (with many grades that are shown to be MS65 and higher) Some we plan to keep, though most we plan to sell. So far, I have created EXCEL documents on about almost all the US coin collection. I don't know whether to take them to a show to sell them... sell them on ebay... or send any to a grading house. (And which grading house?) I have3 acquired a number of coin reference books to get a better understanding of the coins and value, though there quite a few reference books that came with the collection. Rich Urich

if you can post some pictures, that would help greatly.

to the forum! Many here will have excellent advice about which possible ways you may want to go but a lot depends on you. Are you wanting to get rid of them quick and not thinking too much about money? Or are you not in a hurry and willing to put in a bit of work to get the most out of the coins? Hope you are able to learn lots from the invaluable info here! Also, just because it is imperative, make sure you NEVER clean the coins as this will decrease its original value. Good luck!

to the Community! I moved your welcome post to the appropriate forum for the proper attention. You may want to look through the inherited coins helper topic... https://goccf.com/t/167629

Quote: with many grades that are shown to be MS65 and higher Either he was a very wealthy collector or he unfortunately got suckered by basement slabbers We'll have to see and hopefully it is not the latter.

I would gladly post photos of any of the coins. There are just so many of them. And almost all the high end coins are in slabs. Is there a way I can post the excel document of the coins (well most of the coins as there are still many I have to catalog, but I think I have almost all the US coins listed)

You can upload the Excel file to dropbox and post a link to it here.

Pictures of the slabbed coins would help. Do they say PCGS, NGC or ANACS?

So at this point you must realize we are going to pretty much pester you until we get some pictures or a list. Heck even the bar code number off a slab so we can look it up and get our own pictures. Anything for that coin fix.
Seriously though welcome aboard and I am just posting here to remind myself to follow up for when their are some pictures to enjoy.
This place is great at helping people out. Nobody can be an expert at everything, but together there are like 20,000 - 40,000 coin fanatics on this site at any given moment. Like a bunch of worker bees working for our honey i.e. coin pictures.
Feed the hive mind and you will get all the help you will ever need.
