Hi there! I am completely new to this but wanted to see if I could find some more information.

I recently went to an estate sale for a man who was an architect for an emperor before he passed away. I'm not sure how he came to have this coin/medal/medallion? But I purchased it for my husband who has a love of history and all military items.

It is a commemorative item but I can't seem to find anything about it online. Any ideas? Thank you kindly in advance for any help.

It's not a "coin", but a privately issued medal, presumably sold as a fundraiser.

The "Supreme Council of the Thirty-third Degree" is the highest degree and governing council of Scottish Rite Freemasonry. The "Southern Jurisdiction" (S.J. on your medal) administers the organization over the southern and western United States. Wikipedia article.
