For interested parties: I received two sets of the 2015 Eisenhower Coin and Chronicles set and on investigation, I discovered on the reverse of the enhanced W mint mark dollar coin a surface crack running from just between the 2nd and 3rd rays up into and along the side of the A like a double die impression and what appears to be a slight coin Cud on the top of the A and the crack then reappears at the left top of the A and continues for a short distance toward the rim. I tried to photo or scan to show this error but all my attempts were a failure due to the air tite holders reflection. I did not want to remove the coin from the holder. My 2nd set had no error in this area. Has anyone else found a similar error?

I will make another attempt at getting a decent photo by trying to photograph through my 16X magnifier and post tomorrow.

I have tried to get a decent photo of the coin error and this is the best that I could do. The crack is very sharp and well defined (not blurred as shown in the photo). The crack runs along the right side of the A and reappears at the left top of the A with what appears to be a small Cud at the top of the A. I posted this for general notification for other collectors who might want to check their sets.

Welcome to the forum by the way! Yea that's too blurry to make out still but I'm guessing you put the loupe agains your iphone lens then took the pic? If so I guess that the best your going to get unless you play with the lighting angle some more

It looks more like a scratch than it does a crack. If it is a die crack I would expect to see it start from the rim and move inward. From what I can see it stops just above the "A".

Thanks for all of the replies, I am new to this site and hope you will forgive some of my errors until I become more familiar with how it works. I have again tried to photograph the error but it changes depending on the angle that the camera is. This photo is the best that I could do after many attempts. It is an incused mark that seems to disappear under the A and then reappears at the top of the A but in this photo you can just barely ascertain that it appears to produce a double die image along the right side of the A and there is a raised section at the top of the A like a Cud. Sorry for the poor quality of the photo and do appreciate all of your help. This was the best site I could find to notify collectors that they might want to check their purchases.

Looks like an eyelash stuck in the capsule. Odd shape for a die crack.

Open the capsule and make sure it is not an eyelash vs. strike through wire....kinda important
All sorts of crap has found its way into those capsule...

Not an eyelash, last photo was taken out of the holder and it is definitely incused into the surface of the coin. Thanks for your suggestion. My primary purpose for posting this was to alert the coin collectors that they might want to check their purchases on this item.

What does that inner raised rim under the A look like ? Is it incuse or deformed in that area where the line crosses it? Also, the A, is it deformed or otherwise changed by the curved line?

Hair Strikethroughs are usually raised or flat to the field as they get trapped in the metal at the surface during the strike. They have a similar appearance to a long plating bubble on a zlincoln when not flat. I have one on a lare sliver coin. If it is a strikethrough it has to be something hard like wire to be incuse but that should contort the device areas it came in contact with
