I found this 1960-d penny while working and I believe it has a couple errors if I'm not mistaken. Need the communities help please. Obverse Mintmark doubling Possible die doubling on IN GOD WE TRUST, the date and LIBERTY. Reverse Die chip over FG (Corrected - Struck through debris) I was super surprised when I got home and noticed it wasn't a new penny; considering where I found it and the condition its in. I appreciate everyones time and comments thank you! Edited by CoinMeLuck 08/29/2015 05:49 am

I am not seeing the obverse doubling. Can you get a closeup of the areas where you see doubling? On reverse: is the spot over FG raised or recessed? It looks recessed, and I think that would be struck through debris And it appears to be slightly misaligned dies (MAD)

Yes its recessed I didnt think it through and I'm new with errors I'm sorry. And I'll try and get closer pics but I'm afraid my setup isn't the best.

It appears to possibly be a rpm. Have you tried to match it up with the mm on Coppercoins.

On your first photo the MM looked like it could be an RPM. but I didn't notice it on your other pics. nothing else on the coin looked doubled.

I'm not seeing anything regarding doubling, but that's a super specimen to pull out of circulation!

With these pics I do not see any doubling and "maybe" an RPM. The reverse is a struck through debris and a nice one,I would keep it just for that reason. John1

I am wondering if the area on the reverse could be a planchet void? I do not know how to differentiate between that and a struck through debris. I am thinking that the fact that the lower right edge of the memorial can be seen clearly demarcated means something. I just don't know what!

Struck through. Nice find, especially for free!

Looks to be struck through & RPM, Nice! A close up is needed of IGWT to offer an opinion in regards to that.

I agree with Pete: I believe the void was a planchet defect before the strike -- and the corner of the memorial raised into that area as much as it could.

Hard to tell what is there. Too much glare. Try diffusing your images so we can see what is going on in the glare. (too much light) Try diffusing with a sheet of paper (not touching the light) so it will reduce the light and remove the glare from the tops of the devices.

Seeing a cent that old in such great condition makes me think it was in someone's collection -- like maybe they had a roll of 1960's and just decided to set them free.
Nice find!
Enjoy.
