Hi.
I'm Tom
I had an old penny collection that my great grandmother gave me when I was a kid, and in the 1980s, I decided to update it with Lincoln cents with my children. We completed the first two books of the Whitman folders (with the exception of 1909 Ss, 1914 D, and 1931 S) and then moved on to Jefferson Nichols.
While cleaning out the attic recently, I came across two boxes of pennies that we had never finished going through, and I finished going through them in search of our four missing Lincolns (no luck).
I am currently updating the penny and nickel collections to 2015; and, of course, waiting for the 1909 S vdb penny to show up in my change someday.

to CCF! Good luck - the coins you want ARE out there, all it takes is resources (time to look being one of them).

Tell your children to watch for it. Years ago, researchers were looking for a way to make corn a perennial. Development would have been costly, so they drew up a picture of what a wild plant of their desire might look like and printed up flyers with the picture and a $25,000 reward offer. A Mexican child brought them one! Oh, and welcome to the forum! Say welcome to your kiddies for me.

There are 484,000 of the 1909-S VDB's and we've come across 2 in our years of collecting. Have fun!

to the community. I love pennies (although some puritans get upset when you don't call them "cents"). Tomato toe-ma-toe
