I know this is no big deal because it's a common/worthless error and the coin is in bad shape, but it's the first time I've found something completely on my own and knew exactly what it was (BIE) without having to post here and ask for opinions. I think I'm finally starting to learn something

Found-My-First-Error...

I do have a question about it though. The date is really messed up looking. Is it just post-mint damage?

Wow, I found a second one about an hour after I found the first one. I had three rolls of 1955 coins I decided to take a closer look at today. I found that BIE in the first roll. About an hour later I did a second roll and found another one. I'm going to go do the third roll now...

Found a third one...the second two are much nicer than this one, but I'm too lazy to post them because I think I just found something better. I need to post that in a new thread...

Brefos - A BIE refers to the die chip in the word Liberty. The die chip is long and "I" shaped so Liberty becomes LibIerty. If I'm not mistaken I believe this was fairly common on the 1955 cents but cool none the less and I still need to get myself one.

Farily common on most late wheat cents, and generally not worth much premium...and definitely not when the rest of the coin is damaged.
