Upgraded my 1854. What are your thoughts on a grade for this one. Thank you in advance! Side note I believe it to be an N-1 R4.... Edited by srs77 09/07/2015 1:04 pm

TPG AU53BN. EAC 40/35 very minor nicks. Nice chocolate-gray color. N-1 "Pierced Ear" is attribution, I concur. Ear "hole", close 54, curl tip over center of 8, and bust point past left of 1. Very, very nice example of a scarcer variety and a nice pickup.

Thanks paralyse and edweather. I'm not as versed in the older coppers but am getting better at attributing them....

AU 53 to 55 would be my guess as well. Nice one!

I concur with AU53-55. EAC45 - Choice for the grade, only trivial marks and superb color.

AU-50/53BN. Reverse is sharp except for some minor striking weakness in the EN of Cent and lower right side of the wreath. Nice eye appeal and solid grade for date.
