I wouldn't mess with it, I think if you dip it it's going to look like a bleached out Morgan.

No dip in my house, nor any other abrasive or chemical cleaner. I use only Verdi-care (for copper) and Conserv (for non-copper) along with occasional acetone and distilled water.

They remove surface contaminants (dirt, scum, debris) but do not alter the surface chemically nor affect toning or patina.
