Is the double HP on these quarters easy or somewhat tough to find, is there any numbers on population available.

The reason I ask is I found one today metal detecting and thinking perhaps a 10ish for grade.

Thanks
Jon

I'm hoping the shot of the hp is clear enough, my camera and lighting are lets say mediocre lol.

Would like to see a pic, m_d...I believe the double HP are quite hard to find but, I haven't a population report to prove that.

ty Shafta and pennyman007, I checked the site, and it seems almost all the grades are going up on this one. Also checked ebay sales, there doesn't seem to be any record of ebay sales on this variety-mind you I believe it's only certified coins counted. So it's possible someone may want a dhp for their varieties. It would be good if perhaps someone could let me know how I can find a population report on this variety. Cheers and thanks.

Judging only by Charlton 2014 prices, it's either not that rare or not in demand. Even at VF20 it's the difference between $12 and $20 trend price (and what's yours - VG8 at best?), and I don't know how you'd "sell it" as DHP in that condition, although the pics are pretty good. I pretty much have to imagine I see doubling, rather than definitively seeing it.

Hey, you found free silver in the ground. To me, the story is worth more than the coin. Good luck finding numbers. Lower grades are worth not quite twice as much, but there's perhaps more perceived value in the variety, so translate that into pop numbers?
