It looks like it might be able to pass as F-12

OK, now after viewing both sides of your dime the most I can stretch the grade would be VG-10 1/2 .

Comparing it to the pcgs photo grade it looks a bit better than the VG10 but just a tab less detail than the F12, as was mentioned it is kind of in between .. As far as value I know it's worth more than 10-15 as I've been getting 12 bucks for Vg and 8 bucks for g4 coins all day long of this date and mm on ebay ..To be honest I paid 16 for the coin and I feel like it should be worth at least 25 since it's closer to the f12 side than vg10!! I was hoping it would grade F12 and after viewing several barbers graded f12 by the top 3 company's it's seems it could go either way....

For starters, you paid $16.99, see the below link to the ebay listing you purchased. Your coin will not make fine, note the flatness and lack of separation between the lower leaves of the wreath and the forehead. I would want more detail there before I would grade it fine. http://www.ebay.com/itm/221862889246As for value, please see the following; Yours is a little nicer than this one, but not much nicer, and this was $6 cheaper. http://www.ebay.com/itm/371425068465This one has more meat than yours by just a smidgen, and cost $1.50 less. This is my favorite out of all of these for the price point. http://www.ebay.com/itm/252047333447Also more details than yours, and $1.50 more total, probably a technical F15. The best "deal". http://www.ebay.com/itm/261994628194This one is pretty similar with maybe a few hairlines, sold for $5 less. http://www.ebay.com/itm/261973860672After a more comprehensive analysis, I would place a value on your coin around $13-$14. I do not know where you are getting $25 from. The following coin sold for $34.75 and looks to be about VF25. http://www.ebay.com/181825797583 At the end of the day, all that really matters is that you are happy with it, and you seem to be.

@cartwheel I appericate everyone's opinion , but it seems you are trying to make me look stupid by going and finding the lowest prices these coins are selling at rather than averaging out what the last 5 or 10 have sold for .. You will come up with about 25 bucks .. Besides that pcgs say if a coin is an inbetween grade you add the value of those two grade and divide by 2!! Vg=8 bucks plus f12=50 bucks divide that and you get 29 !! That probably high retail but come on man .. Don't try and make me out to be a fool , I know how to search out past auctions same as the next guy ..

It's awfully close. Agree that most dealers (except Jack Beymer) would grade this F-12.

No way, not a VG grade. I'm at a F-12, but more so it's between F-12 and F-15 if there was such a thing.

In the absence of any other information, the coin is worth what you paid. ebay is a free and open market and absent getting lucky on a bad picture or poor listing, things tend to go for what they are worth. 1000's of buyers looked at that coin and had the same basic discussion as here - hmmm, not quite a Fine...or is it...and they bid accordingly. There's a lot more to a coin than technical grade. With apologies to Cartwheel (who makes a good point that there are lots of coins like yours in the same technical grade going for less), most of the coins he listed lack eye appeal so there's a reason they were a little cheaper in my opinion. Your coin has nice eye appeal. Whether it is a VG10 or an F12? Interesting discussion, but how important is that in the general scheme of things? Not very. Whether it is worth $17 or $10 or $25 or $50, unless you are going to turn around and resell it - which is the only real way to know for sure - I would just enjoy it for what it is. A nice silver 105 year old piece of history.

Auctions are generally a good indicator of true value since you have multiple individuals valuing an item and bidding based on their assessment of value. With a Buy It Now, you only need one person to inflate the realized price. As I said earlier, "At the end of the day, all that really matters is that you are happy with it, and you seem to be." It is your money, not mine. Please do not get mad at me for simply fulfilling your request for a grade assessment and valuation to the best of my abilities.

@kenkat
You are exactly right it is only worth what it realized the last time it was purchased .. Whether vg10 or F12 I felt like I made a good buy.. As far as cartwheel I'm sure he probably meant no disrespect I just felt like he wAs low balling the value of the coin when yeah some similar have sold for less than I paid , while others have sold for alot more .. I believe that averaging out what a number of similar coins had sold for would give a more accurate value than going by the lowest or highest amounts .. Thats how I came up with the 25 bucks that he strongly disagreed with ... At the end of the day value really doesn't matter as I plan to keep this coin I was just curious what would be a fair price or going rate if I was to say sell it to upgrade .. Anyways I appreciate everyone posting and everyone's opinion, regardless if I agree with it or not .. Lol Some times we just have to Agree to disagree !!

@ cartwheel Those are past auctions and bin coin that have sold .. None of those coins are being offered for sale now , that is what they sold for days and weeks ago .. My previous post explains how I came up with my numbers .. I understand what you are saying and no I'm not mad I ask for opinions and that's what I got !! We just simple disagree on how to determine the value of a coin .. No hard feeling :)

 that this is somewhere in between VG-10 and F-12. I has more meat on it than a VG-10, but the letters are too weak for it to be an F-12.

I'm at VG10 all the way. I think sellers advertising a coin as "fine" without completely full LIBERTY, clearly visible to the naked eye, are being deceptive.
At least the way I learned, all letters of LIBERTY must be present, complete, and visible to the naked eye without magnification to make Fine.
Coinguy, of the three you posted above, none would make a Fine and I would be hesitant to even go VG-8 on two of the three because to my naked eye almost no letters are visible at all.
