Hey, Just wondering where everyone sells their Coins, Personally I usually sell on ebay and sometimes here on CCF (been lazy as of late). Recently tho on ebay I have been getting hit with various fee's based on changes to there billing structure which is causing me to look else where. Anyone else having these issues? Also been playing with the idea of making a specific site where people could sell their coins without all the Posting/Selling fees (maybe just a small monthly fee to cover costs).. would there be any interest in this (I'm a programmer by trade :) )? Anyways if anyone has any other sites let me know. Thanks, --James

dunno about posting a link, but look for (207) Not Allowed - Auto-Removed for an idea similar to what you mention.

I too have stopped selling on ebay because the fees were getting out of hand. They want a piece of everything. If I have something to get rid of,I've been selling at shows and have been getting the best bang out of them. No fees, shipping and its instant.

Tried eCrater a couple of years back but there just wasn't any traffic. With a store and top-rated seller status the ebay fees drop down to 4.8%. Although you do have to pay the additional monthly store fee of course.

I sell on ebay, but I'm getting insulting prices for coins when I list them in auction format. It's a buyers market from what I'm seeing.

I don't have an answer. I do know as an occasional seller that: ebay is very expensive, local coins shows are very hit and miss (where are the young collectors?), and finally, any premium coin is NOT going to get the best price on ebay, as just too many collectors want to see the coin in hand. At Christmas, certain family members get coins for presents. Whether they like them or not....kicks that selling idea down a generation.
