I tried to find these two coins on Google. Could not find a match. Since I have found two in my collection that look nearly identical I assume that they are not very rare but I am sure they came from the same die. Regarding the date on both coins, the 9 is filled in, the 5 is at an arch with a fill in at the end, the B of Liberty both have partial fill in at the lower part, the top of the S mint marks have a line that connects to the lower part of the 9. Can anyone help me on this?

Looks from these photos to be a match. To truly determine this look for small die cracks or other markers elsewhere that match up. Time to break out the magnification if you want to truly find out.

Hello Cherrypicker. Yes, I did that already and they are both identical with a die chip on the lower B of liberty. The S mint mark has a distinct die break running from top of the S and into the lower part of the 9. Chipped die is also exhibited at the top of the 5 of the date. They are both 100% exactly the same and minted from the same die. Does that make these a variety error?

This page shows several examples of this error:http://www.lincolncentsonline.com/cuds.html
Coins like this usually don't carry much of a premium but some collectors are willing to pay a dollar or so for them on ebay. They do seem to be gaining in popularity in recent times.
