Greetings from Norway! I am a brand new collector, started around February/March this year so I am still in the process of figuring out what to collect.
My focus is currently on Norwegian 1 Krone coins from 1909 to present date and collecting one of each version of each denomination from 1906. Basically Norwegian coins since Norway left the union with Sweden in 1905.
I also have started research on countries that have or have had currencies with names that is some variation of "corona" (crown).
I am also very fond of polar bears and have started finding and buying coins with polar bears on them.
By joining I hope to learn more of the english terminology and the "coin customs" of diffent countries. And of course meeting nice people :)
I also enjoy photographing my coins :) Edited by SamleStian 09/09/2015 4:59 pm

Suggest you keep your "Bears" to coins, I think real Polar Bears make a major mess of the house. Still, it will be a fun hunt...

Thank you all for your warm welcome!
CopperCastle: If ships are to your liking I can inform you that there are four norwegian coins with ships on them. 5 kroner 1975, 5 kroner 1996, 20 kroner 1999, and all other 20 kroner non-commemorative since 1994. Let me know if you'd like to know more about them and see some photos :)

I dont have any to spare that are in decent condition. Just to give you an idea of price, none of them should exceed $10 US, at least not by much, for a regular uncirculated coin :) The one from 1975 is not available in proof or B/U. The others are, but only in proof sets and single coin blister packages. The 1996 5kr is available in a "sandhill" square "slab like" enclosure as well.
