Hello all! I have recently inherited part of my grandfathers coin collection. Although it is not a "large" collection it is still a little overwhelming with all the information and opinions out there. I decided to bite the bullet and reach out for help which landed me here. I would like to post some pictures and get opinions from others, which section would be best to make my post. Thank you for reading and I look forward to learning about coins.

Well hello and to CCF

Good idea - remember the 1st rule - don't clean ANYTHING. Handle as little as possible and only by the edges. The rest you'll learn!

Your questions/pictures on Kennedy halves are best posted in the US Modern section.

Thank you for the tips so far. I do have a question regarding protecting the coins until I get the correct materials. There are loose coins that aren't in sleeves, just in a ziplock bag. There are some war time nickels, Ike's, Kennedy's, etc., what can I use from household type materials to protect them for now?

Remember neither to clean them or talk over them. If I were you, I wouldn't even breathe over them!

I did read through the inherit thread. I have started cataloging everything, easier said than done of course. I bought A Guide Book of United States coins 2014 and Handbook of United States coins 2014. I guess I'll just keep with cataloging and see where that takes me.
