History-About-Two-Malaya-Bronze-Cents-1943-And-1945
By simple knowledge about history of Malaysia, at the period of 1942 to 1945 August, most of the important cities of Malaysia (formerly known as Malaya) were occupied by Japanese troops. I don't know why there is a 1943 bronze cent made by Royal Mint circulating in this country.

Metal was an important war material during WWII, why did the British government still struck a large number of these cents for her colonies? Does it make sense/no sense to believe this 1943 bronze cents actually struck in 1943?

I suppose the 1945 piece is likely to be a post-war product.

Who can have an idea on this topic? Thank you.

I think the Malaya 1943 cents were struck in 1943 (and possibly in early 1944). The War Office had been expecting to defeat the Japanese in 1943 and re-occupy the country and the Malaya planning unit knew that substantial amounts of coin would be needed.

The coins weren't actually circulated until 1945.

I believe they were minted and stockpiled in the UK with the expectation that the Japanese would be defeated and could be utilized again.
