I am about to finish my collection of Morgan silver dollars (year set only). I would like to ask the community here for suggestions of what to collect next. I enjoy things that are at least 100 years old and not too expensive. I'm looking to spend $1000 or less on my next endeavor. I am mostly interested in date sets but would consider date and mint mark if possible for my budget. The only other coins I have besides the Morgans are a set of Australian Kookaburra's (1990 - 2015) simply because I love the design. However, I'm not interested in anything else modern at this time. Thanks for your suggestions and input.

it is really what you personally like, so it is hard to make suggestions. as for me, I love cents, so I would maybe do a flying eagle/ Indian Head cent set. also maybe because you already have a morgan set, a Peace dollar set may look nice in my opinion

Morgan dollars is a big set to be finishing, congrats on the pending achievement. I would stay with dollars and try for a Peace dollar set, maybe an Ike. You can do an outstanding Ike set all in slabs on your budget of $1000. Who doesn't like Ike? If you want a coin to hold you over while you think about it, maybe pick up an ancient coin that has an element of the Morgan dollar in it. For example, Lady Liberty is wearing a cap on the Morgan dollar, a Phrygian cap to be specific. This same cap is on the Seated dollar, and of course the Liberty Cap Cents. Also seen on the great Mexican Cap and Rays coins. A very common symbol really. Maybe pick up an ancient coin with that liberty cap in it, and then transition to another liberty cap American series.

Peace dollars are cool, and would go well with the morgans. As mentioned, a slabed set of Ike's would also be cool!

I vote Indian cents. It's a perennially popular coin with an appealing design, lots of varieties and a large collector base. All the years of the series are over a century old; none of the Peace dollars will meet that stipulation. And most Indians are readily available in grades VF and above at affordable prices. It's the perfect counterpoint set to Morgans with so many overlapping years. The fact that there are a few expensive keys just adds to the challenge. I found my AG 1877 overlooked in a random boxlot of foreign at a public sale. Pro-rated cost = one buck. Good luck deciding.

US Administration of the Philippines! You could do a denomination set to stay over 100 years old.
The only really high priced coins, excepting high grade slabs, are the proofs. You should come in well under 1000 dollars.

How about a nice set of Walking Liberty halves in MS60 or better? Superb design would look fabulous in multiple coins with good mint lustre.

A set of WLH's would in MS60 or better would be a lot more than $1000. It would be more like $10,000 or more. I dream of a MS set of LWH's. I have a complete set, but many are in G, VG or F condition and it cost me well over 1000 bucks. That would be a good ambition, however, as would MS set of Peace dollars, Mercury dimes or Buffalo nickels, but they are not 100 years old. How about a set of $2.50 Indian Head Gold coins 1909-1929. Someone here has a set. Only one coin costs more than 1000 bucks.

The large cents are different. You can complete them as sub sets as well.
The coin is small but I like the flying eagles as well. Small set though with ONE expensive year.
Whats a set of liberty quarters gonna set ya back? The design seems a stone's throw from the Morgan.

For that budget you can quite easily put together a nice set of Buffalo nickels.

First of all your in Israel? And you are asking us here in the USA what to collect? We would have no idea what you have access to and what the availability of any of our coins would be. I am a big fan of Mercury dimes but I have no idea if you could find any at all over there. Members are suggesting you to try coins that may or may not exist over there at all. First of all, give us some kind of idea of what is or isn't available there. Never know, you may have coins there that we just don't have. And I'd be careful of all the possible Chinese fakes you may have in that area.
